Surviving Winter Term

WOW, only 13 days of Winter Term to go…

That is only 13 DAYS OF UNI LEFT TO GO – EVER!!!

This last semester of uni has been a tough one; with only 9 weeks to complete the usual assessment load for 4 subjects.  I know we have all be finding it hard as we continue to slog through our assignments. Many of us are currently pulling our hair out over our Research Proposals and most of us are wondering – why did I do this to myself?

It would appear that we have almost done it – survived a full load, Winter Semester and kept most of our sanity.  Here are some of the things that have helped me stay positive this semester.

  1. My fan-tab-ulous husband: He reminds me to breathe, tells me I CAN do it and doesn’t mind getting snot on him when I have a nervous breakdown about deadlines!
  2. My Professional Experience class (who teased me constantly about my terrible drawing ability): They remind me of what I have to look forward to.
  3. Baking: My favourite form of procrastination and stress release.  Not only does it waste (I mean take up) time, but I am also rewarded with naughty food to munch on as I churn through my assignments.
  4. Alfie, my beautiful kitten!  This little monster makes me laugh, she knows when I need some love and keeps my lap warm when I am in my cold study.
  5. Dancing! Doing what I love and spending time with the people I love has helped me remember that I must make time for me – uni life (and school life) is not the be all and end all.
